Beyond The BrewBoat: Things To Do In Murrells Inlet
Murrells Inlet is an amazing town. Not only is it home to the East Coast BrewBoat, but it is one of the most visited spots along the Grand Strand. Sure, summers are tough to beat here in the Inlet, but there are fun, year round activities to be enjoyed by friends, couples and families. Below are a few things to do in Murrells Inlet besides jumping on our boat and drinking for a solid hour:
Eat, Drink & Be Merry
Murrells Inlet is the seafood capital of South Carolina, and for good reason! Along the Marshwalk, there are several restaurants that have been a staple of the community for over 30 years that serve the freshest seafood at the beach. You will find locally caught flounder on nearly every menu, giving you a true taste of what the Inlet has to offer.
After dinner, the real fun begins! Murrells Inlet is also know as a quaint little drinking village with a fishing problem. Two popular spots to enjoy a drink or two are the Hot Fish Club and the Tuna Shak. An ice cold beer in the summer just tastes better along the water. Write that down.
Play A Round or Two
Around the world, Myrtle Beach is known as the golf capital of South Carolina, but we are no slouches here in the Inlet. TPC Myrtle Beach, Wachesaw Plantation, Blackmoor and Indian Wells Golf Club all call Murrells Inlet their home. When you are scouring the internet looking to book a golf package with the boys in the spring or the fall, don’t overlook our neck of the woods. Being conveniently located to the Inlet’s nightlife after a day of golfing is VERY convenient…
Bike Week
For one week in the spring and one week in the fall, Murrells Inlet plays host to bikers from across the country who make their bi-yearly pilgrimage to South Carolina for Bike Week. While the whole biker lifestyle may not be your thing, these events are still an absolute blast! There is live music all day long, hundreds of vendors and copious amounts of alcohol. If you enjoy having a good time (who doesn’t?) be sure to check out Suck Bang Blow or the Beaver Bar during rally.
Boat Parades
Wait, that’s a thing?! Of course! Here in Murrells Inlet, we look for any excuse to (1) drink and (2) get onto a boat…even in the winter. On July 4th, we paint the Marshwalk red, white & blue! Approximately 50 boats celebrate Independence Day by lining up and are judged by their patriotism as the troll through the marsh.
On the first weekend of December, Murrells Inlet hosts its annual Christmas Boat Parade. The boats are pulled down Highway 17 Business decked out in their Christmas best and throw candy to children along the road. At the very end, Santa Clause himself makes an appearance. Your family will love it!
As you can see, we like to have a good time here in the Inlet. Check back here often to find out many other fun things to do in Murrells Inlet!
